A short climb up some rocks on the edge of a pretty lake, popular for fishing. Located on the way to Killbear Provincial Park - quick find.
Though we have never actually fished here, we drive by it on the way to our cottage and have noticed many other fishermen. This cache is a small, lock & lock container. If you decide to trade fishing items (which was the original intention but not required), please keep the items new and packaged to avoid attracting animals or skewering a finger on a hook.
There are two approaches to this cache. One is from a small parking area located just off the road beside the lake. You can reach the cache by heading west from here along a narrow path made by fishermen - don't forget some waterproof footwear. (It's a bit soggy...)
The second approach could be started west of the cache from the road - be careful about parking, as there are some bends in the road. This might be ideal if you want to avoid the muggles fishing near the parking area. However, you will need to beware of surprising an adventurous muggle fishing below the cache location.
When you are done, why not cast a line or two to try and catch dinner?
As always, please return the container to its spot and recover it well.
July 2010 : We reinstated this cache in a slightly different spot that we think will be less likely to be found by muggles. PLEASE DON'T do this one at night...it is high up and there are some sharp cliffs around.
The climb, the cliffs and proximity to water may not make this cache appropriate for younger children.
