If you want to find this cache, go to Gabrovo- a town situated at the foot of the central Balkan Mountains, along the picturesque valley of the Yantra River.Only a short (6km) drive south,upstream the river, you will find the Etar Architectural- Ethnographic Museum.It is an open-air exposition, aiming to depict the lives of the Bulgarian craftsmen at the time of the Bulgarian National Revival (18th-19th century).The place is at its most atmospheric in spring and summer, but it is well worth a visit throughout the year.
The starting point for your hunt is the museum parking lot.Once you have got there, look for a mountain trail , leading up to the Sokolski Monastery. The cache is hidden near the trail. Look for an old beech tree with a big hollow.
If you are the kind of person who likes rambling in the mountains, don't hesitate to go back to the trail and climb further up to the Sokolski Monastery "Holy Mother's Assumtion". There you can not only savour the sublime beauty of the landscape in our heartland, but also learn something about the role the monastery played during the April Uprising (1876)- an insurrection that led to the establishment of Bulgaria as an independent state in 1878.
