In August of 2007 I made contact with the friendly and courteous staff at Curry Ford Park including Sheryl, the park director. I dropped off an application form to place a cache and also gave them several newspaper articles about geocaching. When I met with Sheryl later, she showed me on the master plan that the spot I had chosen to place the cache would soon be a parking lot for the recreation building! But she helped me locate another spot in an area that should be free from development.
If you are thinking about placing a cache in an Orange County Parks and Recreation you DO need permission in advance and there are specific guidelines you must follow. These can be obtained from the park office.
I hope you enjoy your visit to this very nice new park. It should be a great place to come for a walk or a picnic once the it is finished. Dogs on leashes are allowed.
The gates close at night.
This cache should be reasonably easy to reach. There are trails (sort of) leading back into the wooded area about 30 feet. Please just make sure it is well out of sight when you replace it.
