This cache has been archived.

NCreviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

FTF ( Part Quatro ) #008 - 1984 About the FTF (Part Quatro) project: The First-To-Find Project is a unique project designed for those cachers who enjoy being quick enough to snag the FTF. See the first cache in the Triad series for more information: GC12MBC - FTF (Part Quatro) #001 - Bypass of the Dead. You can see all of the FTF (Part Quatro) series of caches by viewing the Project FTF Caches (Triad Area) bookmark list, which is maintained by creacher.

Here's how it works:

Whoever claims the FTF at a Project FTF cache accepts a responsibility. That cacher must hide a cache which will become the next cache in the Project FTF series (e. g. FTF Quatro #009). If you claim the FTF and are unable or unwilling to continue the project, please make it clear in your log entry that you are deferring the responsibility to the next finder. There is no obligation to participate; just sign and get your smiley if that's what you'd like. However, please communicate this intention in your online log so that others may continue the series.

If you claim the coveted FTF, please do your part to expedite this project's spreading. Of course, once the FTF has been claimed, you may continue to visit this cache!

About this cache:

Nineteen Eighty-Four (or 1984) is an English novel by George Orwell, published in 1949. It is the story of the life of the intellectual Winston Smith, his job in the Ministry of Truth, and his degradation by the totalitarian government of Oceania (modeled after Joseph Stalin's USSR), the country in which he lives. One theme in the book is the phrase "Big Brother is watching you".  This refers to invasive surveillance.

Thus my cache name… my friend Jalibbe recently placed a cache, “SSSharkie1 is Watching You!”  I decided to continue the surveillance theme with this one. (I have been thinking about placing this one for some time, it was only a matter doing so.)

This cache is placed in front of my office building.  As a matter of fact, it is in front of my office window. Chances are I will see you grab this cache if you are here during regular office hours.  Chances are as well, so will others in this building, so stealth is a must!

This is a really easy park and grab!  It is accessible by wheelchair, but may require some asistance to retreive the cache. (And be careful of cars!)The cache is not hidden in any of the landscaping, so there is no need to tear the place apart.  You have seen this hide before and you will see it again.  The only difference is the cache is placed where I can observe others in the hunt.  Who knows, I may even get in a snapshot of you!

Who was that?!  And you thought you would slip away.....

Creacher! and Lilmax fleeing the scene

Is that a dragon I see snooping around my cache?!

Drmellow and robgso – FTL and FTF respectively.
