Geocache Description:

Long, skinny tube. Look carefully.

It's a drive up with a lovely view. You can't actually see the island in the summer due to the trees that have grown along the coast since the marker was erected. While the island is viewable when the leaves come down, parking access is limited in the winter since the approach is not plowed. Should you be able to pull in, the cache is winter accessible.

Brush on up on your Apostle Island history about a breathtaking island that shares its' name with my niece. Madeline Island was named after the daughter of a powerful member of the Ojibway aristocracy. The Apostle Islands, of which Madeline is a member, may be one of the most beautiful vacation spots in the country. Those craving natural beauty and quiet that soothes the soul should plan a visit to their shores.
