Josephine Falls Trail is a 2.3 km (45 minute one way hike) to a viewpoint where the Fording River plunges 25 metres over an impressive rock ledge. The walk to the falls and back the same way is an easy walk, but if you have time to spare a couple of connecting trails will take you to Lost and Lily Lakes.
The falls got it’s name in 1905 from Professor Fairfield Osborn. while studying big game of the area. He named it after his daughter, who caught a large trout at the cascade’s base.
The parking lot for the Josephine Falls trail access: Entering Elkford from the south (Sparwood) at the 4-way stop, turn right, at 5.1 km turn right into parking lot.
PLEASE DO NOT GO BEYOND THE FENCE!!!
The container is a black plastic jar. Original contents: 2 TBs,toy car, bell, pokemon card, bicycle items: tire tube, tube of grease, hand grips, 3-way hex wrench.
