Mysterious Encounter is one of over 30 caches along the Outback Way-finder Trail - the longest Geocache Trail in the world.
G'day Geocachers, Mysterious Encounter cache is located in Boulia, a small town with a very large mystery. Boulia's fame is its association with the magical Min Min lights - a natural 'ghost light' phenomenon in the Boulia region that mystifies both scientists and mystics. Fact or fiction? Find out more in the Min Min Encounter visitor centre in the centre of town.
A nearby waterhole in the river bed was called Bula Bula by the Pitta Pitta Aboriginal people who were resident here long before the Burke and Wills expedition camped on the banks of the 'Burke River', probably not the Aboriginal name!
Activity: After visiting the Min Min Encounter, enjoy a drink in the classic Australian Hotel, explore Herbert Street, swim at the Leisure Centre or walk to the nearby Corroboree Tree, called Kooqee Yuppiree. The last ceremonial corroboree was held at this site in 1974.
