Dalesman: Hi
I'm afraid we cannot change cache types other than in exceptional circumstances. Making the change can upset the statistics of people who have found it. For example, if they've found 100 traditional caches and 100 multicaches and we change a multicache to a traditional then their stats suddenly change to only 99 multicaches found but 101 traditionals. Some people take their statistics very seriously so we've been given guidance not to change cache types.
Exceptions are for caches that have an Additional Logging Requirement (ALR) as these must be removed and if necessary the cache type changed.
If you can't keep the cache as it is then you'll need to archive it and create a new cache at the same location. This also gives geocachers a chance to find a new cache!
Please don't just change the wording on the description to tell people it is a different type of cache as the actual cache type would then be wrong and this will confuse people!
Many thanks,
Dalesman
