This cache, a lock-n-lock box, is located on a short hike off a dirt road near a certified vernal pool. The area is likely to be muddy and mosquitoey, though you should be able to keep dry even during the wet season if you stay to the high ground. But do bring the DEET.
The best time to enjoy this little pool would be in April and May when you can see wood frogs, spotted salamanders, spring peepers, caddis fly, tadpoles and host of other critters.
The road is a town road as far as you can go, but don't block the road or the gate. There is a place to pull off and park safely. The road might not be plowed all the way to the cache in winter time and snow may make the cache more difficult to find, but not dangerous.
(Veni, vidi, vici - (in Latin) "I came, I saw, I conquered" spoken by Julius Caesar in 47 BC.)
