Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed for the Last Day of Summer on Gower meet and replaces my now archived Twin Tomb cache. I wanted to maintain a cache in this worthwhile location and give finders of the old one a chance to seek and log this entirely new one.

The cave was only excavated in 1958 when flint blades, pottery fragments and two human skeletons were found. The further discovery of broken burial urns suggests that the cave was used as a funeral ground during the Bronze Age.

When exploring the cave please respect the fact that this is an important winter roost for Lesser Horseshoe and other species of bat.

The cache is a small bison tube and contains a log only.

***As of 01/08/2012 the cave is no longer accessible having now been gated off a short way in. The cache has been re positioned at the entrance to the cave. The hint has been amended accordingly. ***
