Farther Out From The Fair Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Rattlingcrew: I wonder if this was a high water victim? Anyway, the cache owner is a good one and if he replaces it, he will let me know. Thanks, Glen

Geocache Description:

A replacement attempt goes haywire.

After the early summer floods, many of the Hutchinson caches needed replacement. Due to work constraints, I could not get up there to fix Far Out until now. So, armed with GPS and well stocked container, I head out. Unfortunately, after getting into the area, I discover that I do not have the co-ordinates for the Far Out cache with me.

What to do? I decided to hide another cache here. It has to be at least .1 mile from the old cache that I will replace next month. It needs to be in a "good spot". So, I got a little carried away. This cache is definitely farther out. It is at least two clicks from the parking (one click=one kilometer=.62 miles). A bicycle with a bicycle lock will help on this one but there would still be about a half mile walk, unless your tires can withstand dirt, rocks, and sandburrs.

When I got to the cache site, I was impressed with the remoteness. I had seen flocks of wild turkeys and white wading birds. The only drawbacks were the distance and annoying Texas Sandburrs hiding in the grass.

Cache is a medium sized lock the lid stuffed with treasures. It is coated with camo-duct tape, of course.
