Geocache Description:

This is a canoe launch area for the Yellow River Canoe Trail (visit link)

This cache is located in the Northwest Florida Water Management District. While checking on the cache - before it was to be published - I ran into Officer Danny Dean, Environmental Enforcement Officer with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. He told me this place used to be a local dumping ground. But thanks to his concerted efforts, he has had all the garbage removed and cleared a lot of the weeds. His plans are to upgrade the road from dirt to gravel, install picnic tables and make this area a place you would want to bring your family. We talked about Geocaching, and he is really interested. He got a kick out of finding the geocache. So if you see Officer Dean (he is the only Environmental Enforcement Officer for north Okaloosa County) while caching here, make sure to give him a big thanks and remember we can help him by Caching In, Trashing Out.

But what is the cache you're looking for? Well let's just say digital photography is killing these caches.

A huge thanks to "Army Girl" for setting up the "Micro The World Over... And Over..." (GC15GP4) cache. This is the fruition of your work!

Update (24 Oct 07): Officer Danny Dean was recently praised for all his work. An article was written on him and the cache's location in the 12 Oct 07 Northwest Florida Daily News.
