Geocache Description:

3/4...This is a small cache.A 240ml (0.24L) clip lock box located in Gilbert`s Slade Wood (a section of Epping Forest). The co-ordinates relate to an accuracy of 19ft..GPS reception may be effected by the surroundings.

Care will be needed here as the cache is quite close to two forest paths.Likely muggles to look out for are School children from the adjacent Forest School, dog walkers, cyclists, picnicer`s and courting couples in the general area.

Another hobby of mine is Astronomy,I sometimes visit the open spaces in these woods to sheild from the glare of street lights, these cause the sky to glow orange, blocking out the fainter objects.

You may be lucky enough to spot the "commen Lizard".I have never seen any myself in these parts, but they have been reported here by the Wren consevation group,it may also explain the mysterious Lizard I saw near Wake Valley pond earlier this year!
What I did come across just a few yards away from this cache site were three "Muntjack" Deer, just the once a few months back.I had my camera with me at the time, but as always they shot off in the Forest as soon as I tried to snap them!

Fungi which I have found in these woods at different times of the year, include King Alfreds Cakes,Birch polypore,Beefsteak Fungus,Chicken of the Woods,Commen Ink Cap,Wood Blewit,Horse Mushroom,Sulpher Tuft and various Russula to name but a few.

When placed the cache contained:
A wombles Mascot
Ceramic Hedgehog
Geocaching keyring
Four plastic coloured crystals
American quater doller coin,
A one dime coin

Convenient parking can be found along Oakhurst Gardens near Forest School at N51 35.127 E000 00.594...5 minutes walk to cache.

Nearest tube station at this point is Snaresbrook (central line)
Local Buses #20

PLEASE ENSURE THE CACHE IS HIDDEN FROM VIEW WHEN YOU RETURN IT,THANKS.
