This cache was originally placed on September 11, 2007. Since then, minor hiding changes have been made. The road, and undeveloped hilly area nearby are frequented by rabbits ("That rabbit's got a mean streak in him a mile wide" - to borrow from a Monty Python film) , occasional raccoon families and assertive coyotes. I saw a coyote intently studying a woman who was walking her poodle, so this might not be the place to bring little Fluffy. To my knowledge, no geocachers have fallen prey to coyotes or mean rabbits... yet.
The best view of the Downtown LA skyline is along the road, downhill from, and west of the coordinates. I recommend practicing good tradecraft; Park to the east of the coordinates and then walk to the site. You will not have to trespass. Nearby GZ, looking west towards Avenue 64 is the Church of the Angels, seen in several TV shows and movies - one of them 'Lawnmower Man'. The large campus just south of the Church belongs to Hillsides - a mental health, parenting and foster care organization.
Use situational awareness, especially evenings: Muggles may park nearby, to trespass and party in the undeveloped part of the hills. The neighbors woulld appreciate it if you report any ne'er-do-wells, villains, trespassers, taggers, (etc) to the Pasadena Police Department at 626-744-4241. Let's keep the area safe for geocaching families.
The cache may include trackables or travel bugs. Please don't take a trackable unless you want to participate this cool part of geocaching. Learn more by looking up 'trackables' here on Geocaching.com.
Bring your own pencil. Thanks!
