The Rock Traditional Cache

I wanted to share what was one of my favorite childhood hangouts with my children. So, I put together a cache to leave there when we visited this beautiful spot. It’s easy to find. Please feel free to take what you want, but don’t leave junk to clutter the box. It seems that a lot of the caches I find are small garbage cans. This is still a very beautiful spot and I want to try and keep it that way. With The Rock’s increased popularity, it’s also a good CITO location.
As we were driving to the Rock, I was telling my kids how I used to basically live there from the time school let out in the spring until it started back up in the fall. We would swim and hang around on the rocks all day and usually party the night away. I was telling them that if there were 6 to 8 people swimming when we got there, we would consider it packed. Well, you can imagine my surprise when we pulled in and there were cars everywhere. When we walked down to the river we found 50 to 70 people grilling out and swimming. I’m not sure if there was something special going on that day or if it is always this packed nowadays. We ended up swimming and my kids had a blast. They talked about it for the next few days and can’t wait until it is warm enough to swim again next year. Take a few minutes to sit on the rocks and watch the water run by. You can see how this place can become addicting. The ride to and from this spot is also a very nice drive.
