SITUATION
This is a multi-cache in memory of the nearby site of what was
Templer Barracks, which for many years was the home of the
Intelligence Corps.
MISSION
Your mission - should you choose to accept it, is to locate a
series of Dead Letter Boxes (DLBs) (Intelligence parlance for micro
(35mm film canister)/small caches) that will lead you to the final
regular size cache.
EXECUTION
Park in the lay-by alongside The Hare & Hounds pub at: N51
10.054 E00 50.815 and cross the road to the public footpath which
leads to Godington & Great Chart. Each DLB will provide you
with the location of the next DLB and they will gradually disclose
something of the history of the former barracks site and the
Intelligence Corps. Having successfully located all the DLBs you
will arrive at the Final Rendezvous (FRV). Here you will receive a
detailed briefing on the layout of the former Templer
Barracks.
GROUND AND COMMUNICATIONS
Although much of your route will take you through woodland you will
be able to obtain a good GPS signal at each key stage. There is no
need to deviate from established footpaths when in transit between
DLBs.
TIMINGS
Start when ready, and go to: N51 09.911 E00 50 857 near where a
solitary sentry stands guard.
OPERATIONAL SECURITY
A word of warning - and I will say this only once! The location of
the FRV is secret and it must not be disclosed to unauthorised
personnel - i.e. Muggles.
