Geocache Description:

A cache hidden near a small abandoned ford on a walkable road with a footbridge so it can be approached from more than one direction.

Another forgotten place so near to civilisation. This was once where one of the many thoroughfares for the area crossed the Gwili river. Some roads flourished into the main road network we have today, others fell into disuse.

The cache is a conventional tupperware hide in a not that untypical hiding place and started out with many goodies.

Be warned - although it appears on a map that you can drive almost to the location of the cache, there's very little turning space near the ford.

And besides being listed as a ford, I don't think anything other than farm vehicles is now capable of crossing there unless you're a very daring 4x4 driver (though Matrix prove me wrong - but then he's a daring 4x4 driver!) - the road is listed as a dead end from both directions.

One word of warning - some local motorcyclists use the route as a shortcut, despite the footbridge only being a public footpath.

This cache is close enough and quick enough to find to be considered as a cache and dash journey break, being only a couple of minutes off Junction 48 of the M4.
