This cache is hidden on Dog Butte. It has somewhat of a rough hiking terrain but is a fun climb. Take the gravel road east out of town appox. 5-6 miles. Look for a flat top butte with rocks jutting out of it. You will drive past the butte to the first gate and then drive in.
The cache is an regular sized ammo box. It has some fun items in it like a flashing bracelet, commercial arrow heads, bandana, small dog collar, squirt gun, bouncy balls, toy fish, pin, rings, bracelet. We also included a disposable camera that we hope you will use to take a picture of yourself on top of the butte. The cache also has the local legend of the story of Dog Butte. Leave the gate as you found it. You have the land owners permission to enter the pasture. Use caution as snakes are native to the west river country. The easier hike is up the west side of the butte, the more challenging hike is up the south/east side. This cache would be available year-round.
