KerBear: okay-archiving the event listing. the 2 caches at mcconnell's mills are still in the process of full approval to be perm. again-there are hits for native plants so these won't be published for quite some time. log as temps if you wish. one will be moving at the request of dcnr. someday I'll quit procrastinating and get all this done way ahead of time before the event. the caches are fine as temps and dcnr knew they were there. someday they may be perm! thanks all for coming to the event. great seeing so many new faces.

Kildoo Picnic Area - McConnell's Mills State Park
Anyone for a fall picnic at McConnell's Mills on Sunday November 4th from 11am-4pm? The theme for this meet and greet is fall field games. So, we'll have some sack races, some three legged races, some micro races, and whatever else we dream up. They'll be a grand finale race that you won't want to miss! Prizes for the games and doorprizes will be donated by cachers. If you have anything you'd like to donate-let me know! So far have some people donating coins (KerBear, Renruts, Cainrcc)
The coordinates are for the Kildoo parking lot. There's groups of picnic tables scattered about. I'd like to get the ones across the road where we have our own private little field for games. I'll have signs up for which set of tables we're at. Food will be pot luck. So, if you post what you think you'll bring-that'll help!
This time of year the weather is much cooler for those longer hikes if you like those. There's a few existing caches in the area. It's in my plans to add some shorter to mid hikes to be released at the event. Depends on how far Zoie will walk with me!
adding my comments about the event here. the micro field games went really well! the redneck games were something to watch! just a note to all concerned-that all the micros used were not harmed in any way and are now sitting in my recycling bin for friday.
This event is approved by McConnell's Mills State Park. Directions from Butler-Rt 422 West, turn left into the park. Follow to Kildoo parking lot on the right.
