The farming community today respectfully marked the passing of Percy Trotter, a giant among pigs.
Percy's first passion was football and his beloved Man City. It was his dream come true when he moved into his new home built from part of the old Maine Road stadium. (See Manchester Evening News for full details.)
An accomplished corporate pig, Percy built up a hugely successful Car Boot Sale business, an activity he referred to dismissively as "human farming". He recently sold off this thriving concern, no doubt sensing that his own end was nigh.
However, Percy was never seen to spend any of his great fortune. He preferred simpler pleasures, such as geocaching in the beautiful countryside away from his own rather plain farm.
So today, as Percy left his Maine Road arches for the last time, rumours were rife over where he might have hidden his fortune. The only known clue is this note found in Percy’s pigpen:
