Yamnaska Mountain is located at the beginning of the Rockey
Mountains on your way to Banff National Park.
The cache is located at the summit cairn. The mountain is quite
rough and although it is described as a scramble there are points
where a helmut and rope may be of use.
From the summit looking directly you can see the summits of the
skyscrapers in downtown Calgary over 100 km away.
CACHE DIFFICULTY INCREASED DURING WINTER
The cache is located in a small rubber container.
Inside there are various toys and a note book.
So have fun and good luck.
UPDATED CO-ORDINATES: THANKS TO REASTICK FOR HIS ASSISTANCE.
MCPL. Paul Franklin
was injured in Kandahar Afghanistan in a Suicide bombing Jan
15th, 2006. During the incident Paul suffered amputation of both
right and left legs above the knees. As Paul is an Avid outdoors
and athletic type - it is my hope that at some point in the future
- he will be able to return to this cache. For those of you who
wish to attempt this cache - please do so with safety in mind, and
the support of our dedicated soldiers in your heart. Support for
Paul can be made by recognition or support of the Northern Alberta
Amputee Program, a foundation Paul has worked hard to build.
