Geocache Description:


This cache is placed just outside of Emerald Villas, which is a track of home devoted to the elderly.

"Emerald Villas and Pioneer Villas are a testament to the City of Cerritos' commitment to its residents. When residents reach the golden years of their lives, they are often faced with the problems created due to fixed incomes. One major problem faced by senior citizens is affordable housing. In order to address this issue, the City of Cerritos has developed Emerald Villas and Pioneer Villas, affordable homes sponsored by the City's Redevelopment Agency. The units provide quality senior housing at an affordable rate.

The goal of the City of Cerritos is to provide affordable senior housing in these communities for the next 30 years. With the exception of market rate units, interested purchasers must be of very low income, low income, or moderate income households."

This cache is to recognize all of the older people in our lives. That could be your parents, grandparents, neighbors, in-laws or family friends.
