This GeoTrail cache in Potter County, Pa is located near the
highest elevation of a Triple Continental Divide. From this area,
three rivers' sources begin their journey down major waterways in
three different directions to the ocean. In a northerly direction
flows the Genesee River and it's watershed which drains into Lake
Ontario. To the west is the Allegheny River and it's watershed on
it's way to the Ohio River at Pittsburgh, PA. To the southeast,
Pine Creek and the headwaters of the Susquehanna River flow toward
Chesapeake Bay. The USGS lists this site as the only Triple Divide
east of the Mississippi River. Close observation of this two square
mile area will reveal markers of each of the three watersheds and
