TrailMix 10 - Muscatatuck Park in North Vernon, IN.
It is time for the Fall TrailMix. We will be hiking the River Trail which my trackback clocked at 3.74 miles. The trail follows the banks of the mighty Muscatatuck River for a about 3/4 of a mile. Along the river there are many limestone bluffs and formations to wonder over. We will pass an old stone quarry a one room school house and the location of the Vinegar Mill. There are lots of ravines to meander around but not one stream crossing. Sounds like the perfect trail doesn't it. I will rate the entire trail a 3 to 3-1/2 terrain. There will be 1 bushwack of about 350' but it is not too challenging.
There is camping near the trailhead with electricity and showers, weather permitting. Come join in for another social hike in the woods.
