Geocache Description:


This cache is located along a section of the Speed River Trail maintained by the Guelph Hiking Trail Club (GHTC). This section of the trail goes along beside the Speed River behind Guelph's Wastewater Treatment Plant. With the opening of this trail, one can now walk across Guelph off road from Cooks Mill Road on the east to Niska Road on the west using the Radial Line Trail (GHTC), City of Guelph Trails, and the Speed River Trail (GHTC). This section of the trail has been made possible with the cooperation of the landowner, the City of Guelph.

Parking is available at: N 43 31.538 W 080 15.817. Parking access is from Wellington Street just west of the Hanlon Expressway. Turn at the Water Resource Recovery Centre East Gate sign.

Spring Advisory: This cache is right beside the Speed River. When the river is in flood in the spring it can be hazardous. Please use extra caution! If water levels are too high the cache may be unavailable.
