The lower Mahai River widens slightly to expose flat sandstone ledges over which the water cascades, providing several pools and flat rocks for sunbathing. This destination is only 15 minutes from the Mahai Campsite via the 'Queen's Causeway', built so that Her Majesty wouldn't have to get her feet wet whilst on a short walk during the Royal visit of 1947!
The cache will bring you to the end of the wheelchair path on your way to the cascades. This cache can be reached even in a high river flow so it can serve as a second prize if you do not found the cascades cache. This area is popular especially during holidays, but the cache is hidden behind the muggles highway so it should not be difficult to retrieve.
The cache is a 1.5 rectangular container.
All visitors need to pay R30.00 pp.
