Geocache Description:

Lock and Lock in the area of our first find a few years ago. CONGRATULATIONS TO MUGGLE FUGGER FOR FTF!

Located on an abandoned railroad bed which is maintained by the Ocean County Natural land trust. The Trust is funded by a tax that was approved by the voters of Ocean County. The railbed is next to a section of the Forsythe Wildlife Refuge. Do not leave the railbed and trespass on the refuge. For more information go to (visit link) Good birding and a nice easy walk. For more information about the railroad go to (visit link)
After finding the cache, cross the road and you can see the remains of the railroad bridge that burned in 1946. When at the cache site, look North and you will see a group of antennas and a brick building.. This was the site of an ATT ship to shore radio transmitting station. For more information abour this go to (visit link) The history of this place is at (visit link) Please visit the links and read about the history of this small part of Ocean County before going to get your smiley. It it is amazing how much history has happened in a small bit of marsh that people drive past without a look.
