Plastic rubbermaid container hidden near a small beach on Blue Mt. Lake's north shore, not far from Castle Rock. Accessible from the Castle Rock trail, or by water. Approximately 1 mile (one-way) with some elevation changes. Bushwack required at end.
Trailhead parking is well marked at end of Maple Lodge Road, at N43* 52.379 W074* 27.063, near the entrance to Minnowbrook. The first .3 miles is on a private road, but is also the trail. At .3 miles, the trail splits. follow the left fork (Yellow trail) to the Blue trail. A little beach is at N 43* 54.309 W074* 27.832. Bushwack from there.
I know that some building foundations from an 1800s era homestead are located nearby, but I couldn't find them. If anyone locates them, please send me a waypoint. The large stone structure seen along the Blue trail is the springhouse that supplied water to the homestead.
