Geocache Description:

This is one of those dam ideas I just couldn't get out of my head. I knew -cheeto- was eying up this dam spot too, so I called him in on the set-up.

If you've done any caching in the area, you will no doubt have seen this crazy place. The former resident and dam tender, Joe Wimberger, tended the dam for Fox River Paper for 15 years, taking up position in 1992 and retiring this year, 2009. Joe had decorated the property with his own dam art and was more than half the way across the spillway with his metal works when his tour came to an end. He had installed some interesting sculptures of various mediums, mostly metal and wood outdoor pieces, but certainly no dam plastic!.

The new Tender, Martin, is also an artist in various media. While he has been tasked with removing Joe's art to prevent eaglets from swallowing what they might mistake for a fish, he has no intention of completely stripping and removing all the art. Some will get relocated to the back of the premises and some will stay. Take some time to look at what's left of Joe's dam art and perhaps some of Martin's dam new art, to see if there is anything that appeals to you.
