We all have Mark to thank for setting up the geocacheuk.com web
site, which serves as a fitting memorial to him.
===========================================================
The time and venue is
CONFIRMED
Sunday 18th November - The fun starts at 12 noon.
The location of the event is the Leggers Inn in Dewsbury, W
Yorkshire. The Leggers is by the canal basin in the town and is a
real ale pub of some renown. A regular entry in the CAMRA Good Beer
Guide it regularly boasts six or more real ales on the bar, as well
as the excellent Belgian Hoegardden spiced wheat beer.
The management of the Leggers usually waive their booking fee
for the spacious private function room adjoining the main bar area.
This will give us a great place to meet without the intrusion from
Sunday Roast eaters and Big Screen football watchers. It also means
that we can hold the event on a Sunday which should boost
attendance. Children are welcome as long as they stay away from the
bar area. The only down side is that the bar is on the first floor
and as such is not suitable for wheelchair users.
The Leggers do not do a full meal service but they do a great
Pie & Peas. A pork or steak pies are available with peas. Also
a selection of sandwiches. PLEASE post here if you require food on
the days, so that I can let the pub know.
I am hoping that the event will pretty much follow the pattern
set two years ago.
There WILL be a massive travel bug race again. £5.00 plus the
cost of a bug tag. The first 25 entries get a free tag. Email me
your entry ASAP.
I am flying over two days earlier this year to give American
Airlines time to find my luggage before the event. All paid entries
from last year's aborted race will get free entry to this year's
race.
Book a bug and supply a link to a jpg of your favourite Cat for
the tag.
