Geocache Description:

No bushwhacking necessary. You don't need to leave the trail.

We, the general public, are very fortunate that the Department of Natural Resources was able to take control of this land and prevent it from being subdivided into private residential parcels with no public access.

Great blue herons, cormorants, purple martins and other birds make this area their home. The Nature Conservancy will soon be working on a project to restore the once thriving Chambers Bay oyster population.

The container is on a loop trail that roughly parallels the paved road to Weyer Point. We recommend that you continue on to the point to observe the historic railroad log dump structures, picnic tables, pit toilet and history display boards. There are great blue heron and cormorant rookeries to the south across Woodard Bay that you can see at a couple of viewpoints along the road and at the point,

Note: A Discover Pass is required to park here. (Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle, or at least stash them out of sight.) Bicycles are not permitted. Pets are also prohibited. Cache is only available during daylight hours.
