K-Town Multiplex Multi Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

swimmrguy: After some consideration, I have decided to archive the entire CAL series. With another one of the traditionals muggeled, it was becoming pointless to keep the series going. I was happy with the run it had. I have already removed this cache today, and the remaining ones will be picked up soon. Thanks to all who found them. I am cooking up some other hides, so stay tuned...

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in honour of bluenoserstoo and was part of the "Fare Thee Well BN2" Event (GC16EWH).

The cache is NOT at the posted co-ordinates

The co-ordinates are where the new Multiplex Community Centre is being built. This cache is a regular sized container with swag that should be appreciated by hockey fans, hockey players and hockey parents.

The new Multiplex Community Centre is slated to be a modern facility with

  • 4 NHL sized ice pads
  • 24 team dressing rooms
  • 4 officials dressing rooms
  • 3 sound rooms
  • 2 multi-purpose rooms
  • a fitness centre
  • a bicycle room
  • an upper viewing gallery

However, despite the much needed update for hockey and other recreational facilities, many are concerned about the fate of the existing arenas. Many are full of history, and are an important part of the neighbourhoods where they are situated.

To complete this cache, you will need to visit each of these community arenas.

To calculate the co-ordinates to this cache, you must find all the traditional caches in the CAL series. These caches are located near the hockey arenas that are currently being used by the Church Athletic League. In each of these micro caches, you will find a question that relates to hockey, swimmrguy, geocaching, or all of the above. If the cache has been archived, the link will take you to a page with the original question to answer.

CAL #7 -- Wally Elmer GC15GFY--Archived Answer G--Find question here

It may take a little searching to come up with the answers, but they shouldn't be too hard to find (even if you know nothing about swimmrguy or hockey!) Using the answers, you can calculate the co-ordinates to the cache by following the instructions below. You might want to remember BODMAS from your Grade 5 math!

Co-ordinates are: N44 MN.OPQ W076 RS.TUV where:

MN = C - D
OPQ = (A x E x G)
RS = B x F
TUV = (C x E x G) + (2 x F - 2 x G)

You can check your co-ordinates here.
