Geocache Description:

Red Clay Counsel of Trees Overlook Castle

This cache is only available when the park is open....DO NOT HUNT THIS CACHE when the park is closed.
8 a.m. to sunset Mar. 1st - Nov. 30th
8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Dec. 1st - Feb. 28

This cache is located at Red Clay State Park in Bradley County, Tennessee! The reasoning for why it is named as such is because you are indeed at Red Clay State Park...hence the "Red Clay" in the title. Also, the name of this trail is the "Counsel of Trees trail", which would only explain the Counsel of Trees in the title. The "Overlook" is in the name, because technically the goal for hiking the Counsel of Trees trail is to arrive at the overlook. Lastly, I included "castle" because up until recently I didn't know this place was called the overlook. My whole life as long as I remember hiking back to this cool spot I have always called it the castle. So there you go, the Super_Nate version of the reasoning behind the name.

Okay, looking beyond the naming of the cache...you have the cache find itself. You are going to be looking for a clear lock n' lock rubbermaid hidden just off the trail at the overlook. It contains a log book, stashnote, pen, and a few small trading items. Please be careful with the environment around while looking for the cache...don't go tearing the place up looking for the cache. This one is meant to be easy, the coords should be right on the money, and the additional hint will give it away where it is located.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not attempt this cache from the nearby road. You will need to enter the park, and approach the cache from one of the designated trailheads. One of the options for trailheads at the park can be found very near to the Red River of Tears #1 cache.

This cache was hidden with permission from the park manager, Carol Crabtree. The management requests vistors to protect the parks resources and environment. Please practice CITO while on the park grounds, and take nothing but pictures and a smile from ear-to-ear about your wonderful experience at this beautiful park. If their are any suggestions for improvement of the park, or comments that you may have of any kind....please go to the park office and let them know about it.

Lastly a note from yer friendly cacher Nate here....It wouldn't hurt to go to the office anyway, and let the park management know that you appreciate the caches on the park grounds. Have fun on the trails....
