Geocache Description:

The geocache hidden at the posted coordinates is a regular geocache, however, it is also part of the Allegheny GeoTrail (AGT), a publicly funded project designed to promote a pleasant and positive experience and image of the Allegheny National Forest region and its gateway communities. The AGT utilizes the growing interest in geocaching to assist both residents and visitors to the area in learning more about the unique attractions in the ten participating counties. This cache contains a unique self inking rubber stamp which you should use to stamp your Allegheny GeoTrail Passport to verify that you found it. When you have found a minimum of six AGT caches, you will be eligible to have your AGT passport validated and receive a commemorative AGT trackable geocoin at participating locations. You must have your official AGT passport with you when you find this cache in order to stamp it. Click on the Allegheny GeoTrail Logo below to visit the AGT website at www.alleghenygeotrail.com for complete details and a listing of participating locations where you may pick up and validate AGT passports to receive your souvenir geocoin, trackable at www.geocaching.com .

This is an offset multi-cache using the std ammo box. Reccommended for the whole family.

This cache is located in “Saulter’s Preserve”. This is a 57 acre tract of land donated by Mr. Everett Saulter for public use and educational purposes. It is owned by the County and managed by the Potter County Conservation District. You will find a picnic shelter with electric and several tables. Rest rooms are available nearby. Pack a picnic lunch and bring the whole family along to experience first-hand a wetland, natural fields and acres of forests (and practice your math skills). Permission to place this cache has been granted by the Potter County Commissioners.

You can follow the guide-book (available at the picnic shelter) directing you to 16 STOPS with watershed information and animal tracks to challenge you along the one-mile nature trail. If you do not find the guide-book, you can still follow the path to find the STOPS. Several benches are located along the path where you can rest and let nature put on its display ( OR re-check your math if necessary!).

The posted coordinates are for the parking lot in this preserve. You will need to visit each of the 16 STOPS to obtain Clues to determine the actual cache coordinates. Take time to observe and enjoy all the other features you will see along the way. The final cache coordinates are determined by replacing each digit reference in the template below (01, 02, 03, …) using the following hints:
N(01)(02)* (03)(04).(05)(06)(07) W (08)(09)(10)* (11)(12).(13)(14)(15)

N ___ ___ * ___ ___ . ___ ___ ___

W ___ ___ ___ * ___ ___ . ___ ___ ___

The math is easy but you will need a pencil.Printing this page will give you a suitable worksheet.

(01)= STOP 5 Clue minus 15
(02)= STOP 3 Clue minus 28
(03)= STOP 6 Clue minus 17
(04)= STOP 1 Clue minus 9
(05)= STOP 9 Clue minus 32
(06)= STOP 2 Clue minus 13
(07)= STOP 4 Clue plus Stop 10 Clue
