Charlie Chose Not to Come (Auckland) Traditional Cache
Tramper Ted: Capt Mortein reports that the cache has gone missing. Charlie didn't make it up to the cache as he is very old now and has a bit of arthritis, so we have decided to archive this one.

Fantastic views, and a nice walk. A lookout with a table, approach from up to 3 directions, a bit of steepness via the track, but nothing too hard.
We were staying with our friends nearby. They have a big Collie dog called Charlie. We started out to take Charlie for a walk, but when the track got steep he turned round and went home! Oh the life of a dog at the beach and hence the name of this cache.
This is a great area for a walk on a nice day. Swim at the beach nearby - bring a picnic too. Watch the kids if coming up the track from the Orapiu Wharf as theres a steep dropoff.
Please replace cache carefully and cover with foliage.
