Einfacher Cache in der Ruine Hohenstein mit steilem Zustieg.
Simple Cache in the ruin of Hohenstein with steep access.

Die Burg Hohenstein wurde 1347 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Bereits um das Jahr 1600 ist sie verfallen. Heute sind noch Reste des Wohnturms und der Kapelle vorhanden.

Parken kannst du bei N 48° 28.071 E 15° 26.564. Bei N 48° 27.981 E 15° 26.511 führt ein steiler Trampelpfad zur Ruine.

Beim Wasserkraftwerk Hohenstein (N 48° 27.812 E 15° 25.910) findest du ein Modell der Burg.



The castle of Hohenstein was first mentioned in the year 1347. Already around 1600 it was fallen into ruin. Today rests of the living tower and of the chapel are left.

You can park your car at N 48° 28.071 E 15° 26.564. At N 48° 27.981 E 15° 26.511 a steep trail leads to the ruin.

Near the hydroelectrical powerplant of Hohenstein (N 48° 27.812 E 15° 25.910) you can find a model of the castle.
