Cache is at the entrance to a public launch access for American Lake. Ground is flat, but rocky, you can park within about 3 feet of the cache.
CONGRATS MOUNTAINRANGER!!! FTF!!!
When you reach this point, you are still on public property, no access restrictions apply. If you choose to go through the gate, know the following:
1 October - 31 March, hours are 7 am to 7 pm.
1 April - 30 September, hours are 5 am to 10 pm.
A Northwest Fish and Wildlife pass is needed to Park/Wander Around, as this is a permit only boat launch. To simply drive through and take in the view, however, is free. The coords for one of my 'thoughtful spots' are N 47 07.333 W 122 34.056 - there are usually ducks and geese, and very few fishermen. The day I hid the cache a blacktail deer walked by within 10 feet of me. It's not a park, there's no grass to speak of, just a dirt parking lot, mostly - but for me the quiet backwater by the lake on a crisp fall sunny day is without compare.
