Unfortunately, I am no longer able to do much along the lines of driving and hiking. As a result, some of my caches have already been adopted. The remaining geoadventurers geocaches are all up for adoption.

I am archiving this cache for a number of reasons, including ongoing maintenace/moisture issues coupled with the fact that the park gates will be closed following this coming weekend, making this a much longer hike for maintenance purposes. With the welcome assistance of Dad geoadventurers, this cache was removed this afternoon. We also discovered that some older barbed wire fencing had been discarded close to the cache, making this far from family friendly and a safety hazard for cachers of all ages. I do not recall seeing this during my earlier placement and maintenance visits.

Geocache Description:

Deep in the woods, Dr. de Gore has hidden his laboratory, where he studies the science of grossology! In order to discover the laboratory’s secret location you must do your science of grossology homework and answer the following questions. Your reference for this assignment is the website found at (visit link) .

The seed coordinates provided at the top of the page are actually the parking coordinates for the months of September through to May, when the gate is locked. During the summer, you may be able to park near the trail head, when this becomes close to a “park and grab”.

While visiting this institution, you must respect the rules and sign your name and comments in the laboratory log book. If you wish to trade for one of the laboratory specimens, you must first ask Dr. de Gore’s permission. Should he fail to answer you, press firmly on his chest to get his attention. Do NOT remove Dr. de Gore from his laboratory. He wishes to remain there in order to conduct further experiments!

Please try to trade within the theme of this cache, being careful not to go overboard. This is intended to be a family friendly activity.

The cache is a cammoed 3.9 litre lock & lock container. The FTF prize is an Egyptian Anubis geocoin shaped in the form of a canopic jar, the kind of jar that would have held the intestines of a mummy. Gross!!!
