Geocache Description:

Located near the small hydroelectric dam in Eustis Village.

Take the Eustis Village Road from Route 27, then turn onto Day Road. Park near the dam by the sign that says River Access Parking. Check out the water flow which can be fun to watch during spring snowmelt or after a heavy rain. Then follow the grassy road and the path to a part of the Dead River called Pumpkin Pond. It's not really a pond, just a blip in the river. Snowmobile races are held here in February during Polar Blast. Otters play here in the summer and fall.

You can put a kayak in above the dam and go as far as Ledge Falls. Or you can put in below the dam and follow the river to where it spreads out and becomes Flagstaff Lake. If you want a kayak trip to access this cache, go up Route 27 and take a right at the King & Bartlett sign. Cross the wooden bridge and park on either the right or left. Put in on the left and follow the river down to the dam. All are nice trips. No swimming is allowed near the dam because of undercurrents.

The cache is a small Lock n Lock clear plastic box, 4 1/2"x3"x2". It contains a logbook, pencils and lots of good small items. No FTF prize.
