La Porte St Jean


La Porte St Jean Ancienne entrée, et prison (à une seule cellule) de la petite ville mediévale de La Souterraine, La Porte St Jean peut être visiter desfois en demandant les clés dans le petit bar à côté. La cache ne se trouve pas dans la porte elle même, mais tout près. Il y a quelques années une urgence est survenue. L'eglise a bougé pendant la nuit et le lendemain toutes les commerces sur la Place du Marché ont été déplacé provisoirement dans des autres locales de la ville. On a fait appel à des experts pour diagnostiquer le problème et proposer des solutions. Une entreprise a été charger du projet et notre église a été confié à leurs soins. France telecom a installé une pendule lié à une ligne téléphonique pour informer les experts à Paris du moindre mouvement du bâtiment. Le 28 juin 2008 la première partie des travaux été achevée, et la ville a fêté cet étape avec une soirée de festin, danse, son et lumière jusqu'à quatre heurs du matin. On a entendu les clochers après quatre ans de silence. On était bien ému. La cache se trouve à l'endroit indiqué par les nouvelles coordonnées. Prenez un instant pour admirer notre église d'ici. Prévoyez un stylo pour logger la trouvaille. Merci de remplacer la cache exactement où elle était!

This ancient gateway into the medieval town of La Souterraine used also to be the single cell prison for the town. It can sometimes be visited, you have to get the keys from the little bar next door. The cache isn’t actually in the stone gateway, but nearby. Some years ago now there was an emergency in the night. The church moved and the next day all the shops on market square had to be evacuated. Consultants were brought in to identify the problem and offer a solution. Artisans were engaged to stabilise the building. France telecom installed a plumb line connected to a phone line to link any information of further movement direct to experts in Paris.On 28th June 2008 the first phase of the work was complete and the town celebrated with a big party, dancing and son et lumière till 4 am. The bells were rung after 4 years of silence - a very moving moment. You will find the cache at the co-ordinates indicated. Please take a moment to admire our church. You need to bring a pen to log your find. Please ensure that you place the cache back in exactly the same place. Thank you!
