Geocache Description:

GOTCHA Challenge – Rattling Run Trail

You are seeking a cache which is part of the GOTCHA Mega-Multi Challenge. To complete the challenge, you must log each cache in the series and obtain the information needed to locate the final puzzle cache. For more information on completing the challenge, consult the GOTCHA Challenge - Success cache listing (GC160ZF).

This cache is located off of the Rattling Run Trail (Horseshoe trail on SGL maps) which runs through State Game Land 110. The trail is a wide access road that runs to the top of 3rd mountain and is maintained by the PA Game commission. Although you probably could bushwhack to this one I suggest you follow the trail. Plan on a 2 mile hike (round trip) with over 500' of elevation change. The cache, a small ammo can, is located less than 100 feet off the trail and should be easy to find.

Since I don't have any one style I decided to finally put out a hiking cache and intentionally placed it halfway to another cache along the same trail. You will find this cache about half way up the mountain. Take time to explore the open areas that the game commission created for the deer to forage. If you continue to follow the trail to the top of the mountain you will find a road off to the right that leads to some antennas or you can follow the trail to an opening where you will find a fire tower and a feeding station for deer.

Safety Note: This cache is located on State Game Lands. Please be familiar with the Game Lands Regulations that apply to this area. A fluorescent orange hat and vest is required November 15 through December 15 except on Sundays. Hunting occurs other times throughout the year as well. Please act responsibly. It is strongly suggested you avoid caches placed on State Game Lands during the most active hunting seasons. Please check the Game Commission Web Site for more information.
