Geocache Description:

This is a relatively easy multi-cache located in the graveyard which is currently being restored by the 39th Parkwood Scout Group. Feel free to wander around. The co-ordinates given are not for the cache itself, but for the centre piece of the story below.

This is about the dedication of a troop of Scouts who performed a kindness that is above and beyond the call of duty.
The story goes as follows:
During my travels I visited Parkwood Methodist Church for the purpose of finding out the dates of the demise of my Father and my Mother who are buried there. The graveyard was totally overgrown with brambles and other vegetation which completely enveloped and obscured the graves. In a chance meeting with the Scout Master I mentioned my predicament and indicated that although I knew the approximate location of the grave, my knowledge of the dates of their burial was pretty vague as I was only a young boy at the time of my Father’s death. The Scout Master said he would research the Parish records and forward any information he could find to my home in California.
Much to my surprise I received a letter from the Scout Master, which not only contained the years of my parent’s burial, but photographs of their grave.
The before and after photographs showed much to my amazement that all the graves were now in plain sight and a headstone had been erected on the grave of my Father and my Mother.
The cache is located away from the graves and can be found at:
