This year's TurkeyTrot Fore Event is
blessed to be on the very special grounds of the Portage Lake Covenant Bible
Camp in lovely Onekama Michigan. We will be having a wonderful
breakfast (or maybe Brunch) then a full day of swinging activities
for the entire family to enjoy! Drive for show, and putt for dough,
everyone in this club is a winner!
Please keep checking back here for
details as they come available! We have already designed a brand
new driving range of Manistee Mayhem, and possibly another round of
MiGOlf as well! We will end up the night at
Rosie's (and hope that they don't have karaoke!)Rosie's
is about 5 miles south of Bear Lake, on Highway 31, also known as
Chippewa Hwy. Rosie's has new owners, who are also friends of
TeamSandrich, and are excited to be a part of the
festivities!
You don't hafta be a pro to win this open
Event! All you need to do is show up, and enjoy. So far, our
Leader's Board looks like this:
Friday 23 Nov
7pm: Our usual Friday Nite Fireup, yeee
haaa! Woooo hoooo! The Friday Nite Fireup will be at our house,
once again. But NOT the same house you went to last year. You will
still want to drive to our humble abode, and park. But then look
North, and bring your lawn chair! We'll be having a real "Fireup"
next door. If the weather gets too inclement, then we'll head
inside and give everybody the nickel tour of the remodel we've
almost completed. There's a reason we call it "ThistleDew"!
Anyways, set your gps'r for the following coords: N 44º 25.956 W
086º 14.799 Park in the long, looping driveway. And bring some love
to help warm us all up! We'll see ya there!
Saturday 24 Nov
All Day: Getting to Know You Game,
TurkeyTrot style; lots of meat and plenty of gravy!
10am: Brunch at the Camp, served by some
true pro's! We will feature the same wonderful breakfast menu as
last year, eggs, bacon, and all the trimmings, yum. We do ask for a
sugessted donation of $7 each to cover the co$t of the food. but we
absolutely will NOT turn anyone away. And this year we are starting
the breakfast at 10, which is a bit later than years previous. Barb
says that now the "Head Turkey" has a chance to get there on time?
Hmmmm, wonder who she means?
11:30am: Mad Hatter's Contest! Wear your
abso craziest head gear, and maybe win a prize! We had some awesome
entires last year, and expect even more creativity this
year!
Noon: The start of the afternoon's
activities. Check back here for more details as they come
available. But believe us, they will be better than par, even on a
wet course!
MiGOlf Game will tee off at noon. Nine
exciting holes of closest to the pin, highlighting some of the
Camp's best features and activities!
Also starting at noon is the driving
range game of Manistee Mayhem! You will be givin coords to differnt
places, and discover some of the awesome places that make Manistee
such a unique area to explore, and live in.
5:30ish: We all retire to Rosie's Bar and
Grill for a wonderful dinner! It just doesn't get any better than
this!
Sunday 25 Nov; Wake up, get some
breakfast, (Hey, Hubbles has "Good Bait and Live Food", can't be
all bad! Hubbles is in the middle of town, just north of the Fire
Department) and then go home! Yea, another wonderful
event!
In years past, the kindly owners of the Bella
Vista have given us MiGOrs a discounted rate on clean comfortable
rooms. And it's an easy drive to the fairways of either Pierport,
or Onekama. Also we have had some nice reports for the Alpine Inn,
closer to Onekama on 31. We haven't had anybody stay at the
Travelers Motel in Onekama, but we do know it has had several
problems with management, ownership, and guests, in the past. So
here's the quick link to putting in for the night: Bear Lake
Motels

Please help support the local business
that support the TurkeyTrot Fore Event! The following business have
donated either items, or made available for a holiday discount to
the TurkeyTrot Fore Event. So it really would be nice to show them
our thanx, and support them back!
Our good friends at Pathtags made those cute little
metal tags.
The Manistee Convention& Visitors Bureau
put together the goodies bags, with maps and all kinds of nifty
local things to do and see while you are here.
The architects, engineers and surveyors
at Abonmarche are people that
TeamSandrich does business with, and we can attest to their
professionalism, and integrity. Plus they gave us the golf
tees!
Lynda Brown is a wonderful family
Friend, and also our personal Realtor. She got her Coldwell Banker to
donate the pens and keyrings. If you ever dream of moving up north,
she can make your dream come true!
