A prominent feature along this trail may remind you of a scene in a book by a contemporary of J.R.R.Tolkien, C.S. Lewis. In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Susan and Lucy watch helplessly as Aslan sacrifices himself to the White Witch to save the life of their brother, Edmund.
The trail is well-packed dirt and fairly clear of fallen trees or rocks. It is apparently all that is left of an old logging road. There's shade and a few handy rocks or fallen logs to rest on, here and there. It crosses the strenuous Spring Hollow Trail early on (according to Cache Trails 2004 ed.)
There is parking at the end of a short and bumpy river access road to the west of Third Dam.
Please re-hide the cache well afterwards.
