Geocache Description:

Just off the Pennine Way, at the edge of the Black Hill (582m) summit plateau.

The summit plateau of Black Hill has been transformed over the past 10 years from a bleak peaty trudge through a bog to a pleasant stroll along a paved path.

The bleakness has gone & now grass is coming through everywhere. My guess is that after Foot & Mouth in 2001, sheep weren't reintroduced to stimulate the grass & flowers, as has occurred in many other moorland areas.

The route from Black Hill saunters gently along the plateau then suddenly dives steeply downhill.

There's a good view from the edge, which is where the cache is located.
