Geocache Description:

Positioned on a spur extending into Blakeley Reservoir, just off the Kirklees Way.

A short detour off the Kirkless Way track is well worth it for a visit to this fantastic overlook of Blakeley Reservoir.
The cache sits on top of a prominent spur, separated from the main slope by a deep stream.

The present Wessenden Reservoir was built first (Act in 1836, shown on 1854 O.S. map), followed by Wessenden Head built 1877-1881, work on Butterley was begun in 1891, and completed 1906, and work on Blakeley Reservoir was began in 1896, completed 1903, bywash completed 1904.

This cache is the 6th in the Wessenden Hike Multi series (GC169PY)
