Valen Chapel Traditional Cache

Valen Chapel was originally built as a church in 1707. The composer
Fartein Valen lies buried in the north-western corner of the
chapel’s graveyard.
Over the course of history, the chapel has been moved several
times. It has acted as church, chapel and schoolroom. In 1949 the
chapel was rebuilt at Valen and furnished with 52 seats. The
composer Fartein Valen lies buried in the north-western corner of
the chapel’s graveyard. The memorial to Fartein Valen was
erected by the Norwegian Composers’ Association.
