Located behind Miami Art Museum.
Take a walk behind the art museum to find a huge sculpture that is no longer maintained. At one time you could climb the hill and look through the top tube/pipe that was tilted so your gaze was directed to a reflecting pool down below. You still can climb and take a look- but the pond is no longer kept clean and full of water. The tube/pipe was aligned so that on a clear night you could see the Big Dipper reflected back at you while you were looking through the top pipe. Time and weather have surely readjusted the top pipe so that it may be off kilter a bit- but I would still like to see someone clean the small pond and see what the top pipe "frames" on a clear night.
Take a short hike beyond the sculpture to find the cache. Depending on how you travel to the cache- you may encounter deer, cross country runners, or the remains of an impromtu party from some of the Western Campus students. A beautiful walk, nonetheless.
