Geocache Description:

This geocache is located in the Proud Lake Recreation Area and offers miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horse riding. A motor vehicle permit is needed and daily permits are $6.00 for Michigan residents, $8.00 for non-residents.

Hunting is permitted from September 15 through March 31.

This area is quite a bit different than the trails leading to it. Once the geocache is found, take a few steps to the east and look out over the little valley.

The terrain rating for Bridle Loop 3 itself is about a 2. There are some hills, a few steep ones, and some loose rocks. The entire loop is two miles long. As of June 24, 2008, we eliminated a few caches on the loop, making the hike a bit shorter. We intend/anticipate that geocachers will seek most if not all the caches on the hike. We suggest following the Bridle Trail Loop 3 counterclockwise. This will allow for a nice hike and no backtracking to get any of the caches. Follow the old road from the parking coordinates. The trail is to the northwest of the water pump. This geocache is located off Bridle Loop 3. No bushwhacking is required.

This geocache is placed under the new agreement between the DNR and the Michigan Geocaching Organization (MiGO) which allows MiGO members to place geocaches in state parks without a permit fee.

This geocache was stocked with a good amount of trade items. Please trade fairly for other geocachers. Travel bugs and geocoins are welcome.

The container is a rectangular, clear, Lock & Lock box with some camouflage Duck Tape strategically placed.

We take great care in creating and hiding our geocaches. If ever one of our geocaches needs maintenance of any type, please do not hesitate to contact us by posting a log or by e-mail. We will promptly rectify the problem.

Don't forget Cache In Trash Out.

The FTF prize is the glory and fame associated with being the first to find. It was earned by geochaser75 and geocasher92 on October 6, 2007. Congratulations!
