Known as one of the treasures of the City of Brockton, D.W. Field Park has truly been a place of recreation and enjoyment for the bustling city for over 80 years. Now listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the 756 acre park was originally donated by Daniel Waldo Field in 1925. The park, which was designed in part with the assistance of Frederick Law Olmsted, is basically a series of several man-made waterways surrounded by forests of birch, pine, maple and oak. There are over seven miles of quiet paths and roads winding through the lush vegetation.
I am placing a few Caches in this park, to bring it to those that have not found it. Back in the 70's, this is we (all the teenager) hung out and went parking. It has only changed a little bit, and is still a great little park.
I placed this cache at the Tower just in the park. Tower is at most time closed but, this summer it has been opened off and on. This cache is a Match stick holder. There is a pencil in side. Bring you own just in case it is gone. Enjoy your hunt. Joe
" Congratulation to Macfriends for Your Second FTF of mine today" Good work!!!
